The name traditionally given to the body of Aristotle's logical works: Categories, On Interpretation, Prior Analytics, Posterior Analytics, Topics, and Sophistical Refutations. The title reflects the Peripatetics' view that logic is not a part of philosophy, but a tool of all enquiry. In Kant an organon is a system of principles whereby knowledge may be established.
