EC; other names: oxoglutarate decarboxylase; α‐ketoglutaric dehydrogenase; an enzyme that catalyses the reaction between 2‐oxoglutarate and lipoamide to form S‐succinyldihydrolipoamide with release of CO2. This is the E1 component of the oxoglutarate dehydrogenase complex. Thiamine diphosphate is a coenzyme.
