1. A glycoside, P57AS3 (P57), from Hoodia gordonii, possibly the only active ingredient.
2. A coronin-like actin-binding protein.
3. p57/kip2 is a cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor of the p21CIP1, p27KIP1 family. Mice deficient in this inhibitor have developmental defects similar to those seen in Beckwith–Wiedemann syndrome. It is encoded by a maternally imprinted gene in both human and mouse.
4. p57lck (lck) is the isoform of the src-family kinases that is expressed predominantly in thymocytes and peripheral T cells. It associates with the cytoplasmic domains of CD4 and CD8, and with the β-chain of the IL-2 receptor.
5. See neuromodulin.
