1. One of the p53 family of transcription factors. Overexpression of p73 protein and aberrant expression of its particular isoforms is associated with malignant myeloproliferations, including acute myeloblastic leukaemia. Hypermethylation of the p73 gene and underexpression is common in malignant lymphoproliferative disorders, particularly acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL) and non-Hodgkin's lymphomas.
2. The rho GTPase-activating protein 24 (p73 rhoGAP, filamin A-associated rhoGAP, FILGAP, 748 aa) involved in regulating actin remodelling, cell polarity, and cell migration.
