pacsins

Show Summary Details

Quick Reference

A family of cytoplasmic adaptor phosphoproteins (protein kinase C and casein kinase substrate in neurons) that interact with dynamin, synaptojanin, and N-WASP, and are involved in vesicle trafficking. Pacsin 1 (434 aa), which is more strongly expressed in brain, interacts with huntingtin in a repeat length-sensitive manner, interacting more strongly with mutant huntingtin. Pacsin 2 (486 aa) and pacsin 3 (424 aa) are more ubiquitously expressed and do not interact with huntingtin.
