Quick Reference

An overuse injury of the capitellum in the elbow. It tends to occur in young athletes as a result of lateral compression forces in throwing activities. It involves the ossification centre of the capitellum but, unlike osteochondritis dissecans, it is associated with no loose bodies and recovery is usually complete, albeit slow.
