A circuit in which the circuit elements are connected so that the current divides between them. For resistors in parallel, the total resistance, R, is given by 1/R = 1/r1 + 1/r2 + 1/r3 …, where r1, r2, and r3 are the resistances of the individual elements. For capacitors in parallel, the total capacitance, C, is given by C = c1 + c2 + c3 ….
