Quick Reference

(1595–1677), English-born minister who emigrated to Massachusetts (1634), was an orthodox Calvinist, although in matters of ecclesiastical polity he favored Presbyterianism rather than Congregationalism, as may be seen in his True Copy of a Letter written by Mr. T. Parker… (1644). He conducted a preparatory school for Harvard students, among his pupils being Samuel Sewall, and also wrote The Visions and Prophecies of Daniel expounded (1646).
