British dancer and ballet mistress. She studied at the Sadler's Wells Ballet School and joined the Royal Ballet in 1957. She was promoted to principal in 1962 and created roles in Ashton's Monotones I (1966) and Enigma Variations (1968), among others. She left the Royal Ballet in 1978, becoming ballet mistress and character dancer with American Ballet Theatre.
