Quick Reference

Actin-binding proteins of the α-actinin superfamily that are associated with focal adhesions and form a complex with integrin-linked kinase (ILK). α-Parvin (actopaxin, 372 aa) and β-parvin (affixin, 365 aa) are colocalized with actin filaments at membrane ruffles, focal contacts, and tensin-rich fibres in the centre of fibroblasts. γ-Parvin (331 aa) lacks the nuclear-localization signals found in parvins α and β, and is expressed in leucocytes.
