Franciscan lay brother. He was born on the border of Castile and Aragon; in obedience to a vision he entered the neighbouring convent of the Franciscans of the Alcantarine reform where he practised extreme mortification. He was especially devoted to the cult of the Blessed Sacrament and in 1897 Leo XIII declared him patron of Eucharistic Congresses and Associations. Feast day, 17 May.
