Fr. conductor. On staff Paris Cons. 1841–68, becoming cond. of students' orch., 1853. In 1861 founded Concerts Populaires and cond. many works by contemporary Fr. composers, also much Wagner. After his death concerts continued for a time under name Concerts Pasdeloup.
