An apocryphal apocalypse, written in Greek and in its present form dating from the 4th cent., which describes what St Paul saw when he was taken up into the ‘third heaven’ (2 Cor. 12: 2). It became very popular as a source of ideas about the afterlife. It is to be distinguished from the Gnostic ‘Apocalypse of Paul’ found at Nag Hammadi.
