Quick Reference

A regional variation on the ùruisg in Scottish Gaelic tradition, especially associated with the town of Aberfeldy, 32 miles NW of Perth, which takes its name from the peallaidh. Although not a water-spirit, the peallaidh was thought to haunt rivers, lochs, or the seashore. Like the ùruisg, it is a subspecies of fuath.
