A flat, thin chest muscle, which has its origin on the anterior surface of ribs 3–5, and its insertion on the coracoid process of the scapula. When the ribs are fixed the pectoralis minor draws the scapula forward and downward: when the scapula is fixed, it draws the ribcage superiorly.
