(bc.1470; d Seville, 1 April 1528). Spanish composer. Though primarily associated with Seville Cathedral he also served as chamberlain and singer in the chapel of Pope Leo X in Rome, and some of his masses and motets may have been written for use there. His music shows clearly the influence of Josquin.
