Quick Reference

A model of group cohesion that suggests that the amount of cohesion oscillates in a pendular fashion throughout a group's existence. For example, an American football team may have high cohesion when it first meets; the cohesion is reduced due to competition among players for selection to the final cut; and then cohesion rises again after the selection has been made prior to the first match.
