A versatile Spanish designer who has worked on interior, architectural, and industrial design projects, Pensi is best known for his furniture and lighting. Born in Buenos Aires he commenced his design career in Brazil but, after travelling to Spain in 1975, became a Spanish citizen. He participated in the Berenguer Group (founded 1977) until 1984, establishing his own practice in the following year. Pensi has worked for many international clients and his best‐known works included the Toledo chair for Amat, the Regina lamp for B. Lux, and the Artico and Duna collections for Cassina. He also has designed for Akaba since 1992, including the Carma Table System and the Pol seating range. International recognition came in the form of prizes such as the Nuevo Estilo award (1994), the Good Industrial Design Award in Holland (1995), and the Product Design Award at the Industrie Forum Hannover in 1997.See also Premios Nacionales de Diseño.
