Quick Reference

A plot of the level of performance of an individual (or the average level of performance of a group) over a period of time or for each of a number of practices. Performance curves can be used to analyse and evaluate the effects of training and other factors, such as maturation, fatigue, motivation, and boredom, on level of performance. Most performance curves show periods when an individual reaches a plateau in performance during which there is little or no improvement (see arrested progress).
