Show Summary Details

Quick Reference

Proteins that are bound to a membrane but not embedded within the hydrophobic region. Many are covalently linked to molecules that are part of the membrane bilayer (see glypiation), and others are linked indirectly but nevertheless firmly, forming the membrane cytoskeleton (e.g. protein 4.1 and spectrin) or linking with the extracellular matrix (e.g. fibronectin).
