Quick Reference

Any of several established, field-tested, and validated survey instruments, e.g., the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI), used to assess aspects of personality, i.e., introversion, extroversion, passivity, and aggression, and to sort people into personality types such as type A behavior, type B behavior. All such tests should be used and interpreted with caution because, even though they have been validated, they can yield misleading results.
