Yugoslavian dancer, choreographer, and company director. He studied at the Novi Sad Theatre Academy, at the Belgrade State Ballet Academy, and later in Paris and London. He danced with the National Popular Theatre in Novi Sad (1946–51) and the Belgrade National Popular Theatre (1951–4). In 1954 he went to France, where he danced with Charrat's company; he also danced with Massine's Ballet Europeo di Nervi. From 1967 to 1969 he was ballet master of the Pittsburgh Playhouse School of Dance; in 1969 he became founding artistic director of Pittsburgh Ballet Theater. He choreographed many ballets for the company, including the first American full-length staging of Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet. He left the company in 1977.
