Quick Reference

The process of sorting genomic DNA clones in order to select those that give a complete coverage of a genetic locus. Candidate clones are screened for marker sequences and clones sharing particular markers are assumed to overlap. A computational approach can then be used to select the smallest set of clones that will cover the whole region.
