A technique of evaluative conditioning whereby a picture (conditioned stimulus) that a participant initially rates neutrally on a like-dislike scale, after repeated pairing with one that is strongly liked (unconditioned stimulus), tends later to be rated more highly than an initially neutral picture repeatedly paired with one that is disliked.
