(1832–98). English High Victorian Rogue Gothic architect, who worked in Scotland. His best works were the Church of the Trinity, Irvine, Ayrshire (1861–3), and the Barclay Church, Edinburgh (1862–3), both of which have over-emphatic elements in their compositions, with deliberately over-emphatic elements.
