Quick Reference

The process whereby a conjugative plasmid can help a nonmobilizable plasmid to be transferred from a donor to a recipient cell. Nonmobilizable plasmids cannot prepare their DNA for transfer, but can become mobilized by recombination with a conjugative plasmid to form a single transferable DNA molecule. See plasmid donation, relaxation complex.
