Quick Reference

A member of the serpin family (PAI-1, mesosecrin, 402 aa) that is found in tissues where it inhibits plasminogen activator. Plasminogen activator inhibitor-2 (PAI-2) is only secreted by the placenta, presumably to regulate trophoblast invasiveness. See protease nexin-1.
