A heavily glycosylated single-pass transmembrane protein (528 aa) mainly found on the apical membrane of renal glomerular epithelial cells (podocytes) but also on vascular endothelium and some tumour cells. It is linked to ezrin and the actin cytoskeleton through the scaffold protein, NHERF2 (sodium/hydrogen exchanger regulatory factor).
