Communist philosopher and psychologist. Hungarian‐born, he joined the ‘Philosophies’ group in the 1920s, developing a Marxist theory of psychology. A founder of the review La Pensée and prime mover of the intellectual Resistance, Politzer was shot by the Gestapo.
