Quick Reference

R. Good's (The Geography of the flowering Plants, 1974) Polynesian subkingdom within his palaeotropical kingdom, which contains a small, derived flora with only 9 or 10 endemic genera (see endemism), scattered through the various islands. The affinities are with the Malaysian and Australian regime, and there is no distinct ‘Polynesian’ flora as such. The great majority of the floral elements have been derived from adjacent floras.
