## Quick Reference

In real analysis, a polynomial function is a function *f* defined by a formula *f*(*x*)=*a*_{n}*x*^{n}+*a*_{n−1}*x*^{n−1}+…+*a*_{1}*x*+*a*_{0} for all *x* in **R**, where *a*_{0}, *a*_{1},…, *a*_{n} are real numbers. See also polynomial; terminology applying to a polynomial is also used to apply to the corresponding polynomial function.
