A non-aqueous elastomeric impression material (elastomer). It is prepared by mixing a base material (mercaptan) with either an inorganic catalyst (lead dioxide or lead peroxide) or an organic catalyst (benzoyl peroxide). It can be used in a dual impression technique combining heavy-bodied (high-viscosity) material with a high permanent set with a light-bodied (low-viscosity) material providing fine detail reproduction.
