A combination of signs and symptoms which follow concussion. They include headaches, irritability, giddiness, and mental fatigue. Athletes exhibiting post-concussive syndrome should not be allowed to return to participation in sports (especially contact or collision sports) until it has resolved completely because they are particularly susceptible to a serious injury at this time (see second impact syndrome).
