Company founded in the city in 1964 by the choreographers Ogoun and Smok and the critic Vladimir Vasut. It gave its first performance on 23 Apr. 1965 at the Prague Theatre of Nusle. A chamber-sized group, it showcased contemporary Czech choreography, especially ballets by Ogoun and Smok. After a brief period of inactivity when it disbanded in 1970, it was reformed as Prague Chamber Ballet. It frequently toured abroad until it was absorbed into the newly formed ballet company at the Prague State Opera, 2003.
