Quick Reference

Multiprotein complexes which promote repression of homeotic genes during development. The polycomb repressive complex-2 (PRC2)/EED-EZH1 complex is a complex with EED, EZH, SUZ12, retinoblastoma-binding protein-4 (RBBP4), and AEBP2 and methylates lysine residues on histone H3, leading to transcriptional repression of the affected target gene. The PRC2/EED-EZH2 complex may also associate with histone deacetylase, HDAC1.
