Show Summary Details

Interphase chromosomes that are experimentally forced to undergo rapid condensation to metaphase dimensions. This is done by fusing an interphase cell with a cell in mitosis. The interphase cell is induced to enter mitosis, and its chromosomes contract accordingly. See Chronology, 1970, Johnson and Rao.
