A robot supply-vehicle developed by the USSR and used from 2001 to transport provisions to the International Space Station (ISS). The craft is 8 m long and 2.2 m wide, and can fly a payload of 2300 kg. Its thrusters can also be fired to change the attitude of the ISS. The first Progress was launched in January 1978 to the Russian space station Salyut 6 and Progress craft later made regular trips to the Russian space station Mir.
