A two-headed muscle. The upper head has its origin on the medial epicondyle of the humerus; its lower head has its origin on the coracoid process of the ulna. The heads converge and the common tendon of insertion is on the lateral midpoint of the radius. The primary action of the pronator teres is elbow pronation. It also acts as a weak elbow flexor.
