1. A protein (36 kDa) from Peptostreptococcus magnus that has an affinity for immunoglobulin κ light chains from various species. It can be used to purify monoclonal or polyclonal IgG, IgA, and IgM as well as Fab, F(ab)2, and recombinant scFv fragments that contain κ light chains. (NB Bovine, goat, sheep, and horse Igs contain almost exclusively λ chains and do not bind.)

2. One of the proteins involved in the centromere complex that is required for proper kinetochore function (centromeric protein L).
