A neurological condition, resulting from a lesion in the corticobulbar pathway, in which the voluntary muscles of the face are paralysed, resulting in dysarthria and dysphagia, but involuntary facial movements such as facial expressions, coughing, and sneezing are unaffected. Also called pseudobulbar paralysis. [From Greek pseudes false + English (cortico)bulbar (pathway)]
