A family of marine fish that have an elongate body, large eyes, and a large, soft-rayed, dorsal fin preceded by about three spiny rays. The tail fin and pectoral fins are rounded. Found among rocks and coral heads, they are colourful, agile fish, found in the Indo-Pacific region. There are several species. See also Pseudogrammidae.
