Quick Reference

A rare class of asteroid whose members are distinguished by moderately high albedos and reflectance spectra that display a strong absorption feature at wavelengths shorter than 0.7 μm and a modest absorption feature near 1 μm. The spectra are interpreted as being similar to ordinary chondrite meteorites. At present, only (1862) Apollo and a few other near-Earth asteroids have been identified as belonging to this class.
