The countering of the effect of one part of a removable partial denture framework with another part of the framework. It may be active reciprocation, when there are two opposing and balanced retentive clasp arms, or passive reciprocation, where the rigid part of the clasp arm is located opposite the retentive arm and on or above the height of the contour line or on a guiding plane.
