poet, translator, and radio dramatist, is best known for his book of verse A Map of Verona (1946), which contained his much‐anthologized poem, inspired by his wartime experiences in the army, ‘Naming of Parts’. His plays made a notable contribution to BBC radio drama in the 1950s, and two collections have been published.
