Quick Reference

Short lengths of rope, sometimes braided, set into the reef-bands of square sails and used to tie down a reef. In fore-and-aft-rigged sails the reef-points are usually set into individual reef patches in the sail. The reef-points of heavier sails are usually secured to the sail by crow's feet but smaller craft may use stopper knots.
