In client-centred therapy or counselling, a process whereby the therapist or counsellor puts into words and feeds back, without interpretation (2) or judgement, the emotional content of the client's words and behaviour. The therapist might say, for example, ‘You are angry because I am not taking your side against your husband’. Also called reflection of feeling.
