reflection grating

Show Summary Details

Quick Reference

A diffraction grating in which the grooves are ruled in a reflective coating. The grating may be either plane or concave, the latter being able to focus light. The advantage of a reflection grating over a transmission grating is that it produces a spectrum extending from the ultraviolet to the infrared, since the light does not pass through the grating material.
