(1941– ).

Swiss architect, associated with the Ticinese School and the Tendenza. He practised from 1970 with Fabio Reinhart (1942– ), and both men taught under Rossi at the Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule (Confederate Technical High School), Zürich (1972–4). They designed the Casa Tonini, Torricella (1972–4), a variant on Palladio's Villa Capra, and built other villas, including the Casa Sartori, Riveo (1976–7), where Classicism is stripped and bared to its most essential elemental forms. They have been distinguished exponents of Rational architecture, or Neo-Rationalism. In 1976 Marie-Claude Bétrix and Eraldo Consolascio joined the partnership, and among their works is the Sferax Factory, Cortaillod (1978–81).
