These regulations came into force in 1995. They give effect to European legislation in the UK and require employers to report injuries, illnesses, and dangerous occurrences either to the environmental health department of a local authority (for office, retail, hospitality, and similar businesses) or to the Health and Safety Executive for other kinds of business.
