rest-pause training

Quick Reference

A method of weight training that enables a lifter to perform several repetitions with a weight that normally could be used only once. Ten to fifteen seconds rest is taken after each repetition, allowing the blood to flow back into the muscles. This allows the muscles to recover before another maximum effort. Rest-pause training is demanding even for experienced lifters, but is popular among some body-builders.
